Black Biographies Matter project publishes missing stories of prominent Black Americans who have been pushed so far to the sidelines by discrimination.

We want to remember those who duly deserve it and to inspire future generations by captivating life stories, which can guide us to more wonderful accomplishments.

Old stereotypes die slowly. Many prominent women of the past are still left out of histories or recorded as mere footnotes to biographies of their husbands.

We restore these powerful women to prominence, giving future generations more wonderful examples to live up to.

Too many sensational incidents, celebrities, and other important events are forgotten. Today’s media coverage quickly disappears from tomorrow’s digital history.

Examining the past in all its fullness allows us to understand the American culture of today and the nature of media with its sensationalism. Details matter.

Eastern Europe—the strip of countries squished between the “Western World” and Russia—has often been at the center of global conflicts: a murder in Serbia triggered the First World War, while struggle over Poland started the Second.

Unlike Western Europe, Eastern Europe is underrepresented online, and we work to fix this.

Less than 5% of populated places in Africa have any meaningful online presence, such as a dedicated website or a Wikipedia page. For the Western World, this number is over 95%.
