Humans construct language to define and cement a group. That vocabulary is used as a Friend-or-Foe identification for the group. Played out on a larger scale, this contributes to the development of different languages; however, the outcomes for modern global societies are not necessarily helpful.
The need to quickly transition from group to group or understand the intricacies of different groups typically outweighs all benefits of highly specialized terminology.
The Jargon of the Dollar project deals with the language of business and commerce and aims to explain as many terms as possible to the general public. At the Wenard Institute, we believe that free knowledge helps everyone and advances humanity.
